Copyeditors Shirish Rajmalwar, Asst. Editor We are constantly looking for experienced, detail-oriented copyeditors (technical editors) to edit/clean manuscripts, query authors, and bring manuscripts into Asiatic Journal of Biotechnology Resources (AJOBR) style. As we are using an innovative web-based reference tools, we need you to be comfortable to use web-based tools during editing. Please only apply if you are reliable, have an extensive experience in editing scientific manuscripts according to AJOBR Style, if you have a good understanding of how statistics should be reported, and if you are comfortable using web-based software. Acknowledgements The Asiatic Journal of Biotechnology Resources is an independent non-profit academic project, by involvement of Pacific Publishers International. We think that research work should submit their work and can be distributed under an Open Access model. The Asiatic Journal of Biotechnology Resources is supported by the individual grants held by the researchers who publish in AJOBR (through the Article Processing Fees) as well as through a network of individual and institutional members forming a "Network of Excellence in Scientific Research" and supporting this unique knowledge dissemination project. Please consider to join the network to support AJOBR. We thank the CMTRD for small grants to support publication of works from authors from less developed countries. Asiatic Journal of Biotechnology Resources had been made possible with support of Pacific Publishers International. Apart from that journals is recognized as official publishers of several govt. and non govt. organizations such as Centre of Microbial Technology for Rural Development, India
Information for potential peer reviewers, editorial board members and guest editors
Editorial board members Editorial board members serve as "associate editors" (also called section editor) to guide manuscripts in their area or interest through peer-review.
If you are interested to serve, send a brief email to the editor (email address see above), stating the subject area you are most interested/experienced in. Enclose a full list of publications, a list of funded research as principal investigator, and activities as editorial board member or referee for other journals or research programs. Simultaneous membership of editorial boards of other journals or newsletters closely related to the area of Microbiology or Biotechnology must be disclosed.
We usually expect that EB members have at least reviewed 2 papers for AJOBR and authored/published at least 1 paper in AJOBR.
Peer-reviewers wanted!
We are actively looking for peer-reviewers from all specialties. Peer-reviewers should be experienced researchers who have published Medline-indexed peer-reviewed papers or Medlar Index before. If you want to be added to our peer-reviewers database, please send mail at submit@pacificjournals.com
Note that all corresponding authors of published AJOBR articles are automatically added to our peer-reviewers database and may occasionally be invited to comment on articles related to their subject area. |
Guest editors We are also constantly looking for guest editors who wish to compile a theme issue on a special subtopic (for example: biotechnological aspects, resource constraint labs., Clinical biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, etc.).
This may be particularly interesting for workshop and conference organizers putting together a grant-funded event (e.g. with invited experts) on an Biotechnology-related topic. AJOBR can then be used as a dissemination vehicle (Funding through grants or other sources is usually required and should be budgeted for in grant proposals. Letters of support are available from the AJOBR editor. Note that granting agencies such as NLM or CIHR usually want to see some sort of knowledge translation activities in workshop proposals, and have in the past funded the AJOBR).
The task of the guest editor(s) is generally
- to solicit manuscripts from colleagues concerning the selected topic,
- to select peer-reviewers for incoming manuscripts,
- to make decisions (together with the editorial board) on article revisions and acceptance, and
- to write an editorial for the theme issue
- to secure funding to sponsor for published papers (usually in the $10-20k range).
Alternately, the abstracts of the conference may publish in a supplement, with selected full papers published later in a theme issue or in regular AJOBR issues.

Societies and associations affiliated with AJOBR As the field is rapidly expanding, many national and international organizations are currently being created, dealing with the various issues related with bioscience covered by this journal. We are constantly seeking to establish more formal links with societies, associations, or other entities, particularly those who are active in the field of microbiology and biotechnology or related sciences, by inviting them to become affiliated with the “Asiatic Journal of Biotechnology Resources”. The Asiatic Journal of Biotechnology Resources can for example enhance the attractiveness of becoming member in your society/association, by offering discounted article processing fees for association members.
If desired, representatives from affiliated societies may become Associate Editors, coordinating submissions from the society, compiling special sections of the journal or taking part in the general editorial and peer-reviewing processes and decisions. The affiliation of the Asiatic Journal of Biotechnology Resources with the society may also be made visible by introducing a new subtitle "Official Journal of the Society ... / Association for ....".
Individuals interested in discussing any of these arrangements should contact the editor-in-chief with information about your position within the society, information about the mission of the society, number of members, and which affiliation model you would favor. We are also open to new ideas of collaboration and partnerships.
